About

The Santa Clarita Artists Association [non-profit 501(c)(3) was founded in 1989 by a group of local artists who had a desire to share their expertise, knowledge, and enthusiasm for art. The Association has a broad range of talent from professional to novice. Members provide the ability to encourage, assist, develop, and exchange ideas and information in building on artistic skills.

Our mission is to promote art in the Santa Clarita Valley by "Making Visual Art visible." Our community outreach programs help with this endeavor, and are always educational, child friendly and free to the general public. We also award Scholarships to a range of art students in Santa Clarita - from high school to college. Our members are assisted with making their art visible by taking advantage of the many exhibit opportunities we offer in Santa Clarita. Our emphasis is to be a support group devoted to the enrichment of each members experience through the visual arts.

At 6:30 pm, on the third Monday of each month, the Association hosts a General Membership Meeting. Visit our Meetings page for specifics on the evening's agenda, as well as the location and directions. The majority of our meetings have professional demonstrations by well known artists, but several meetings during the year focus on the marketing and business aspects of the art world. If there is a demonstration the evening concludes with a raffle of the demonstration piece, or a limited edition print from the artist.

All meetings are free and open to the public. Visitors are encouraged and welcomed.
