We do not have a formal email address or phone or please go to our web site @ http://www.skagitart.org to get information about the group and how to contact us.

The Skagit Art Association is a non-profit organization, founded in 1956 to "create, foster, and sustain interest in the arts, to further the understanding and appreciation of art in all its forms, and to sponsor displays, exhibits, and educational programs." Each year, the association awards scholarships to students of local schools.

Since 1989, Skagit Art has hosted the popular "Art in a Pickle Barn" fine arts show and sale. This event is held each spring during the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival in Mount Vernon, Washington, to raise scholarship funds. Personal and corporate contributions to our scholarship fund are welcome as well.*

MEMBERSHIP is open to everyone, from those interested in the arts to the accomplished professional. However, membership is based on a ratio of 65% Skagit County and 35% other county members. Participation by members in the "Art in a Pickle Barn" show is determined by the Pickle Barn Rules on a priority basis as listed in the rules. A copy of the rules is posted elsewhere on this Web Site. Membership fees are payable June 1st through June 30th of each year, and must be received within that time frame to be eligible to show in the following year's Pickle Barn Show. All new members must be a member for a year before participating in the Pickle Barn show in April. Any interested non-county person is very welcome to attend meetings and enjoy the programs offered and association with other artists until such time as the ratio allows actual membership. It is suggested that those persons get on a waiting list for membership, if it is not readily available.

MEETINGS are held the second Thursday of each month EXCEPT in April, July, August, and December. Speakers or demonstrations in art are often featured and members are reminded by newsletter, which is mailed about one week prior to each meeting.

JOIN US! If you wish to be in touch with fellow artists and art lovers, and to share your interests and ideas with them, you are invited to join the Skagit Art Association. Simply print out the membership application included in this Web Site, complete it and return to the address given. If membership is readily available to non-county residents, you will be notified and can submit your dues. Skagit County applications can submit dues with the application.
