To provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.


A nonprofit organization, Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in several Olympic-type sports for children and adults intellectually challenged. SOIn Tippe reaches nearly 200 athletes throughout Tippecanoe County. The activities even go beyond sports! The organization receives no federal or state funds, relying entirely on corporate, civic and individual donations ~ operated totally by dedicated volunteers. Come on ~ ALL are welcome to come, "BE A FAN..." (join the fun) ..."get involved with someone special!"

Sports we offer are Aquatics/Swimming, Athletics, Basketball, Bocce Ball (age 30+), Bowling , Golf , Softball, Flag Football, Long Distance Walking & Running. Soccer is starting up as well!
