About Us:

State Street Dance Studio opened its doors for the sole purpose of reaching students of all ages and abilities to do good work and to pay it forward to others. This Studio encourages both faculty and students to raise the bar for themselves, reach out further and try to put their best foot forward.

State Street believes that dance and movement touch the inner child in us all, whether or not you're studying for sheer pleasure, and/or working towards a professional career.

We at State Street Dance Studio offer a wide variety of classes including Ballet, Pointe, Character, Theater Dance, Tap, Modern, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, Ballroom, and Nia. We have many classes for adults as well as children.

 The State Street Dance Studio Philosophy is to raise the barre by bringing Chicago-quality dance education to the Suburbs. Faculty members strive to help each student reach his or her personal potential, and inspire excellence of body, mind, and spirit, in a non-competitive, non-judgmental atmosphere. State Street students learn that mistakes are crucial to learning, and that learning is the basis for their growth.

State Street offers a wide variety of classes for children and adults including; Ballet, Pointe, Character, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Tap, Hip Hop, Theater Dance, Ballroom, and Nia. State Street’s Ballet Training Program is designed for students interested in pursuing a professional Ballet or dance career. Performing is a key component at State Street. Students at State Street participate in an annual performance at the Paramount Theatre. In addition, each year State Street presents the full-length ballet, The Nutcracker.  State Street Performing Companies represent the studio throughout the year at local events, fund-raisers and performances around the Chicagoland area.

Additionally, State Street Dance Studio coordinates productions, participates in fund raising events, and partners with grade schools, middle schools, high schools and colleges. We also partner with for and non-profit organizations including: Association for Individual Development (A.I.D. Telethon), American Cancer Society, Batavia Public School District 101, Christ Community Church, Democratic Party of DuPage County, Fox Valley Folklore Society, Fox Valley Hospice, Geneva School District 304, Geneva Cultural Arts Committee, Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois, Habitat for Humanity, Illinois Youth Center, Kane County Fine Arts Festival, Kaneland Community School District 302, Literacy Volunteers of Fox Valley, Marklund Foundation, Miss Illinois Pagent & Scholarship Association, Mother's Club of Geneva, Mutual Ground, NoMi LaMad Dance Company, Northern Illinois University, Rising Star Theater Works, River North Dance Chicago, River Park of Geneva, Ruth Page Foundation, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, St. Peter's Church, St. Charles Cultural Center, St. Charles School District 303, Steel Beam Theater, Town & Country Library, Tri-County Family Services, Waubonsee Community College, Waubonsie Valley High School, Wyndmere Senior Living and Geneva Underground Playhouse.
