Established 1986....

SRI began as a Main Street Program  under the direction of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED). Since then, SRI has evolved into an organization that embraces the entire City of Sunbury.

The work of SRI is carried out by volunteers who are organized into various committees. Our staff coordinates the activities of the board and committees to produce the desired outcomes.

Our premier event is River Festival. Held the third weekend in August each year, the River Festival attracts thousands of visitors to Sunbury for the weekend. SRI also coordinates many separate events during the holiday season in November and December. We provide continuing emphasis on economic development and business promotion throughout the year.
