History:

Tabernacle Bible College and Seminary, Inc. was founded in 1988 by Bishop Dr. Lawrence Langston in Tampa, Florida in the church of his pastorate with its first graduating class of 15. Since then, TBCS has matured into a rapidly growing and stable educational institution with extension schools, students and graduates in 38 states across America and 19 foreign countries.

In its humble beginnings, TBCS was able to offer a "certificate of completion in Biblical studies" for those who completed a 90 hour course. After much deliberation and application, we were approved and certified by The Florida State Board of Independent Colleges and Universities in Tallahassee, Florida where our president and chancellor, Archbishop Dr. Lawrence Langston served on the Advisory Council for the State Board. We were finally authorized by that board to offer degrees from Associate of Theology through Doctor of Religious Philosophy, (Ph.D.). TBCS then received it's first accreditation in 1995 and the second in 1997. In 2004, TBCS qualified to become an accrediting association and may now offer accreditations to other colleges that have met the criteria.

Our alumni includes many Founding Fathers of the faith, well known ministers, pastors, creative artists, Presidents, Kings, & government officials from America and abroad. These men and women of renown have impacted the lives of myriads around the world and continually testify that their education and degree through TBCS has been a catalyst in their success.

Courses can be taken with our "distant learning program". This enables the student to remain at home and on the job while furthering their education. Also, "on campus classes" are held for those in the region of one of our extension schools. Our students have entered into all walks of life including corporate market place, major ministries, creative arts, medical fields and government.

Our tuition is modestly priced and affordable to those desiring a higher form of education, and is found to be lower than most institutions of our caliber.

We are incorporated in the state of Florida while working with numerous Church and Para-Church organizations across the nation and abroad and governed by a Board of Directors of various denominational backgrounds.
