508-255-3060

Mission:

Our mission is to reach out to those in need, whether within our church family, our local community, or the broader diverse human community.

We advocate and act in accordance with our Covenant on behalf of the hurt, the hungry and the excluded.

About Us:

Acknowledging our long history as a covenantal church, we promise to be a faithful people committed to justice and mercy in our individual and community life, whatever it may cost us.

We trust in God revealed in scripture and mirrored in the life of Jesus. We respond to the love and the power of the Spirit of God alive among us.

We covenant to support The Federated Church of Orleans as we seek to serve the world we touch: to gather in worship, to listen to each other, to share in the joy of discipleship, to stand with the hurt, the hungry and the excluded, to relieve suffering and alienation where we find it, and to work toward a time of peace for all people, trusting in an unknown future.

History

Established as a Congregational Church in 1646 by Mayflower Pilgrims, this congregation has a rich history.  Since the Congregationalists federated with the Universalists in 1939, this family of faith has embraced people of diverse backgrounds in the spirit of prayer, study, mission, and service to the community.

The church is a meeting place for many community groups, including The Meeting House Preschool, National Alliance on Mental Illness, Companion Animal Program, Cape Cod Embroidery Guild, Orleans Men's Garden Club, and Alcoholics Anonymous.

We are God's people striving to follow the teachings of Jesus to love one another by sharing time, talents and treasures in mission outreach on Cape Cod and in God's world through Habitat for Humanity, the Interfaith Council for the Homeless, Cape Cod Children's Place, AIDS Support Group and many other programs.

For many folks who have retired to Orleans, the church has become their support network as members share in fellowship and caring for one another during times of illness and loss.  We feel we are a blessed church and pray you will come and experience the joy of our worship and the love and peace of Christ among us.
