The Health Center of Helping Hands

102 S. First Street

Our Mission:

The Health Center of Helping Hands provides affordable, quality healthcare to those that are underserved in the Rockwall community. The Health Center is conveniently located in downtown Rockwall, in the Reeves Service Center building and is the only community clinic in Rockwall County that offers medical services to those that are uninsured or underinsured. The Health Center of Helping Hands offers primary care medical services for all ages to residents of Rockwall County and the surrounding counties. Since there are currently few, if any physicians in the county that are taking new Medicaid clients, the Health Center of Helping Hands has become a preferred provider for Rockwall County residents with THSteps, Amerigroup, and Parkland Medicaid programs. We also accept Medicare.

Since individuals who cannot access affordable healthcare have higher rates of high blood pressure, heart and lung diseases, diabetes, and asthma, chronic disease management is a specialty of the Health Center. Nurse Practitioners spend time educating patients about their conditions and the best ways to take care of themselves. Rockwall County residents living at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level may qualify for fees based on a sliding scale.  Others can take advantage of our Health Maintenance Plans which is not exclusive for Rockwall County. Care plans are assessed for every patient and follow-up visits are encouraged. The Health Center of Helping Hands has proven to be a medical home for many in our community. Children´s health is also another emphasis of the Health Center since sick children miss days at school while their parents lose days at work. Vaccinations, sports physicals and well child check-ups are also available at low costs. Eye exams and dental exams are arranged with partner providers for those that need them but cannot afford to pay.

Our qualified medical staff consists of Family Nurse Practitioners, medical assistants, lab technicians, and a variety of volunteer physicians in the fields of OB-GYN, Endocrinology, Internal Medicine  and Family Practice. Our volunteer physicians generously donate all of their time and expertise to our patients at the health center.
