About Us

Spring Township has been, and will in the future, play an important role in the history of our region. Early in 1950, the Centre Region which consisted of State College Borough, Patton, Feguson, College, and Harris Townships completed a planning study. In early 1960, Spring Township organized a Planning Commission. We planned for new highways; Blanchard Street was opened to accomodate the new Vocational Technical School. Sewers were done in Phase 1, which consisted of Pleasant Gap, Axeman, the Bush Addition, Jacksonville Road, Blanchard Street, and Coleville. Phase 11 included Walker Township, Jacksonville Road and Musser Lane. The Bond White Spring was purchased and placed in operation with two 500,000 gallon storage tanks located near Supelco. In 1998, we saw over 600 million dollars of construction within Centre County. The future holds much for Spring Township, with I-80 and I-99, and the reconstruction of Benner Pike.
