Trinity Alliance Church

History

Our church’s history begins in 1850 with a group of German immigrants who felt the need to have a Baptist Church in the Town of Kossuth area, Manitowoc County. It was part of the North American Baptist denomination.

In 1941 the congregation moved into the City of Manitowoc to be closer to the members who were traveling to the church from the City of Manitowoc. A temporary building was used until the building on the corner of 11th and Waldo Boulevard was dedicated in 1956. Kossuth Baptist Church became First Baptist Church of Manitowoc. They left the North American Baptist Churches and joined the American Baptist Churches. Later they would rejoin the North American Baptist Churches and become dual affiliated.

A new vision for growth and a perceived need for ample parking facilities had the congregation moving again. Through God’s leading this new building, located on the corner of Hwy Q and Goodwin Road, was finished in September, 2002. Another change was made to, in effect, create a new church. For various reasons the congregation left both the American Baptist and North American Baptist Churches and joined the Christian & Missionary Alliance denomination. Following the change in denomination, the church was renamed Trinity Alliance Church.

The vision of those early German settlers has gone through many changes, but the mission remained the same–to proclaim God’s forgiveness in Jesus Christ.
