About Us:

Wayne Memorial Hospital is a nonprofit community hospital governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees, whose members live and work in the area. The Hospital has 98 acute-care beds with an additional 14 beds dedicated to inpatient rehablitation, a partnership with the renowned Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network. The Hospital serves patients in Northeastern Pennsylvania (Wayne and Pike Counties) and Sullivan County, New York

History:

Wayne Memorial Hospital began humbly, in a private residence on Court Street in Honesdale in 1920. It was dedicated to 55 soldiers from Wayne County who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Great War, World War I.  In 1995, the Hospital was rededicated to all those from our service area who gave their lives in all military conflicts from World War I forward.  From Court Street, Wayne Memorial grew, moved and expanded to its current location at Park and West Streets.
