Mission Statement

The mission of the West Covina Unified School District is to work in concert with our families, the community, and business to provide all students with a high quality education in a safe and secure environment in order to graduate well-educated, responsible citizens.

District Goals

By 2010, all schools will meet or exceed the State Academic Performance Index target of 800.II By 2010, all schools will exceed the federal requirement for the percentage of students proficient in English Language Arts (56.8%) and Mathematics (58%).III   To facilitate the attainment of the above student achievement goals, all schools will demonstrate:

-A clear and shared focus High standards and expectations for all students Curriculum and Instruction aligned with State Standards Frequent monitoring of teaching and learning Focused professional development High levels of collaboration and communication Effective use of fiscal and human resources. A supportive learning environment Effective teacher and staff evaluations.

High levels of parent and community involvement.
