Wildomar Incorporation Now

P.O. Box 1476

History:

Wildomar Incorporation Now was originally a standing committee of the Wildomar Chamber of Commerce. Formed in early 1992 the committee found strong support from the community for Wildomar becoming a city. From its inception, the committee has been commonly known as WIN.

The economic times were not quite right for cityhood, so the WIN committee turned its efforts on supporting other important issues such as the creating a uniform Wildomar Zip Code, fighting against the sphere of influence of the City of Lake Elsinore, and working with the county and the EDA to help form the water and sewer assessment district on Clinton Keith Road, and so forth.

With the rapid development of the Wildomar area in recent times, the WIN committee moved its operation from the Wildomar Chamber to the Wildomar Community Council. In October 2003, the WIN committee became a standing committee of the Wildomar Community Council.

WIN completed the Cityhood Petition Drive in November 2004 and received approximately 30% of the registered voters signatures. Petitions and our fiscal study, that we commissioned from Rosenow and Spavecek, were submitted to LAFCO in December 2004.

Working in consort with the Wildomar Chamber of Commerce, the Wildomar Municipal Advisory Council, and other community groups in Wildomar, the WIN has begun the active process towards making Wildomar an official incorporated city.

WIN is dedicated to the achievment of cityhood for the Wildomar, CA area. Cityhood will provide residents with local control over planning, services and infra-structure; provide the local community a greater voice in regional issues; create an efficient and politically accountable local government for our community; retain local tax revenues for use in and to benefit the community; enhance the quality of life and maintain our community’s unique environment and preserve Wildomar’s historical and cultural heritage. We are organized for educational purposes and to act on behalf of the entire Wildomar community to achieve these goals.
