Winston-Dillard School District is one of 13 districts in Douglas County. The District serves almost 1,700 students in grades K-12, with a forward-looking, comprehensive 21st Century curriculum.

Instruction is delivered in three elementary K-5 Schools: Brockway, Lookingglass, and McGovern; Winston Middle School grades 6-8; and Douglas High School grades 9-12

The District also offers an alternative program for students whose learning styles and interests are best served outside the traditional classroom setting. In addition, the Education Service District provides educational opportunities for students in grades 7-12 at Riverside Center, a day treatment facility for students residing in Douglas County.
The District provides a comprehensive competitive athletic program, Special Olympics, extracurricular activities in future Farmers of America, Future Business Leaders of America, National Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society, Future Family and Community leaders, music, drama, and art.

Douglas High School Special Education and Youth to Work Transition programs work closely with the Wildlife Safari in a unique partnership. the Wildlife Safari, a year-round drive through animal park with restaurant, theater, landscape grounds, zoo and animal care facilities, provides students with unique and varied training and work opportunities from arborists to zoologists. In return for the student training opportunities, the safari receives volunteer labor and trained seasonal workers.
