Mission Statement:

To teach each student by transmitting knowledge appropriate to grade level

To educate each student to love authentic values and to develop a sense of what is good, right, noble, just and beautiful

To form the character of each student as the foundation of all virtue and integrity

Our History

Catholic educators and parents under the spiritual direction of the Legionaries of Christ, a religious congregation, founded Woodmont Academy in 1995.

We responded to the need for a unique center for superior academics and spiritual growth in the rapidly growing counties of Baltimore, Howard, and Carroll. As population grew, so too had the waiting lists at Catholic schools. Woodmont Academy was the first Catholic elementary school to open in twenty years to serve the community in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Since 1995, our Pre-K to grade 8 campus has grown from 49 students to a current enrollment of over 300 students in 20 classrooms.

The core of Woodmont Academy is its Catholic identity. Woodmont believes that leading young people to know and love Jesus Christ contributes toward the pursuit of superior academics and excellence in character formation. Spirituality is a normal part of curricular and extra-curricular life as we lead our students' growth in knowledge, skills, values, athletic ability, and social maturity.
