Our Mission
The mission of Main Street Beaufort, USA ( MSB, USA) is to support and promote a vibrant, cohesive mixed-use district that reflects Beaufort’s historic small town, home town values through strategic economic development initiatives.

How We Accomplish Our Mission

...MSB , USA is the only organization focusing specifically on the core business district’s economic development. Our single purpose is to strengthen the economic climate in the downtown district in support of downtown businesses.

...MSB , USA offers one of the broadest marketing support programs among South Carolina’s Main Street programs. This includes year-round radio support, print cooperative advertising, and special events.

...MSB , USA has ongoing efforts to identify, address, and take lead roles in those issues that substantially impact the appearance of the downtown. This includes, but is not limited to, working with the city on streetscape improvements, downtown furniture, downtown banner program, litter control, etc.

...MSB , USA also works with property owners interested in property improvements and façade renewal. The appearance of downtown speaks louder than words to the residents and tourists.

...MSB , USA has an effective private-public partnership with the City. MSB, USA is the advocate for downtown interests to City officials.

...MSB , USA works effectively with the Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce, Historic Beaufort Foundation, and other economic development organizations.

...MSB , USA provides monthly opportunities for business owners and operators to meet with colleagues and share information.

...MSB , USA is recognized as one of the strongest programs in the Southeast and has received numerous statewide awards.

...MSB, USA has been used as a model for programs in South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.

...MSB , USA was recognized by the National Trust for Historic Preservation 1997 as one of top 40 Main Street programs in the United States.
