Our Mission

First Christian Church, in response to the love of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, exists to minister to the needs of people, to encourage growth in the Christian faith, and to reach out to each other and the world in witness and service. The Church's ministry affirms the uniqueness of every person; provides a diversity of programs and opportunities for worship, fellowship, and nurture; and maintains its historic and ongoing covenant relationship with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

Our Beliefs

The Bible reveals God's Purpose in the world through Jesus Christ and serves as a guide for Christian living and faith.

God has been revealed to humanity in many ways, mainly through the birth of Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is the son of God, part of God's divine nature and our Lord and Savior.

Public confession in Jesus Christ and repentance of our sins are crucial to an obedient faith.

All Christians are unified in the love of Christ.

Doctrines should not be used to divide believers from each other.

All believers are called to vocation of the faith. They are entitled to interpret the Scriptures and perform church functions.

Baptism is the obedient act in which a believer enters into the church universal.

The Lord's Supper is the heart of worship celebrated in remembrance of Christ's life on earth and Christ's sacrifice for our eternal salvation.
