BEAUMONT, TX---“Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree,” your branches won’t be bare this year. The Art Museum of Southeast Texas (AMSET) is helping Southeast Texans add a unique touch to their holiday trees by offering a Christmas Ornament Workshop. From, participants will have the opportunity to learn from local artists and crafts people how to create one-of-a-kind, handmade ornaments for their holiday tree.

“The most cherished Christmas ornaments are those that were handmade and have wonderful memories attached,” said AMSET Curator of Education Sandra Laurette. “We’re going to teach workshop attendees how to create the most beautiful and artistic ornaments to adorn their tree and have fun while doing so.”

The workshop will be set up in stations, and attendees will have the opportunity to stop at any or all stations for personal instruction in the creation of very special ornaments. The ornaments include a Froebel Stern (traditional German Folded Star), Quilled Christmas Tree ornament, Santa ornament, paper ornamental stars and gift boxes that hang on the tree.

All ages are welcome to attend the workshop, but children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The cost of the workshop is $20 for AMSET members and $25 for non-members. Each registration covers one ornament of each type.
