Dallas, TX - Priyanka Kapoor, a master of occupational therapy student at TWU's Dallas Center, is one of only 75 university women in the world to be selected as an International Masters Fellow by the American Association of University Women (AAUW).

Ms. Kapoor was selected from more than 1,000 applicants for the fellowship, which provides an $18,000 stipend for one year. Recipients are selected based on academic achievement and demonstrated commitment to women and girls.

This fellowship is not only of a financial assistance to me, but most importantly, a means to connect with females around the globe who are working toward a common goal of promoting female equality, Ms. Kapoor said.

After graduation, she plans to return to her home country of India to promote the inclusion and rights of people with disabilities, especially young girls. These goals, she said, will be achieved with the quality tools and global perspective I will gain through my education at TWU.
