City Of Jewett

Jewett is located in the northwest corner of Leon County. It is situated on Highway U.S. 79, which runs east and west through the middle of Jewett. Approximately eight miles east is the intersection of I-45 and Hwy. 79. Jewett is 115 miles North of Houston, 105 miles South of Dallas and 125 miles East of Austin. Within a sixty to seventy mile radius are the cities of Corsicana, Waco, Huntsville and Bryan/College Station. Centerville, the county seat of Leon County, is 18 miles southeast of Jewett. Two major railroads, the Missouri-Pacific and the Burlington-Northern now serve Jewett.
