As the private and public sectors partner together in the future, we will continue to be standard bearers of community above self, coupled with an independent, pioneering spirit. These values are demonstrated in our City of Lubbock Vision Statement, Mission Statement, and Values Statement created for elected officials, staff members, and volunteers. These important statements were created by our city council, city management, and community leaders.

Vision Statement:
Partnering to build the model community.
Our vision statement reflects an ideal achievement for all of us to aspire towards each day as we serve the citizens of Lubbock and work together to plan and construct a city that will be an example to other cities throughout our nation.

Mission Statement: Serve with Humility, Lead with Passion, Commit to Excellence.
As elected officials, city employees, and community volunteers, it is important to always remember that we are here to serve our fellow citizens. We must accomplish this objective with modesty, enthusiasm, and the desire to be exemplary in word and deed.

Values Statement: City of Lubbock employees are continuously striving to have an attitude, behavior, and spirit that is positive throughout the organization. It is that word, SPIRIT, which we use as an acronym, and a reminder, as to why we are here.

S - Service that exemplifies how we should treat all people the way we would want
to be treated.
P - Professionalism among our city staff and leadership in which we do the tasks
before us with efficiency and effectiveness.
I - Integrity to be forthright and honest in our dealings with the public, other
organizations, and each other.
R - Respect and consideration for all constituents, groups, and individuals we may
encounter, and work to solve issues with fairness and open debate.
I - Innovation, creativity, and inventiveness when confronting daily decisions that
impact the lives and welfare of citizens and commerce.
T - Teamwork in the process of governing and leading while always seeking to find the
common good through cooperation and synergy.
