Vision for Immanuel
Our congregation has been working for several months now on a Strategic Action Plan for Immanuel. Bruce Wurdeman from the Texas District of LCMS has made several visits to work with us. He will be here again on October 12th. First we listed Immanuel’s assets. No one will be surprised that our members’ love for Christ and each other is number one on the list of assets. Our pastor, school, facility and relationship with Winter Texans were among the many other assets.
Immanuel deserves much praise for maintaining and growing this congregation for 96 years. The church members who have been meeting with Bruce, feel we shouldn’t take a chance on just maintaining what we now have. We must improve and grow. So, the next step was to recognize our weak spots. This is not easy to do, but we tackled the job with honesty and Christian love
The three areas we decided to work on are: Outreach and Assimilation, Children’s Ministry, and Congregational Structure. We finished the Children’s Ministry with Bruce’s help. Last month we worked on Outreach and Assimilation by ourselves
