TMC's 6th Annual Jack Skiles Music Scholarship

WHAT:
The Texas Music Coalition (TMC) is currently accepting submissions for the 2010 Jack Skiles Music Scholarship.

WHEN:
Application deadline: Friday, June 11, 2010

DETAILS:
The Jack Skiles Music Scholarship continues the legacy of Jack Skiles, a noted musician and member of TMC, who fostered the growth of local community music, and is open to all South Texas residents currently enrolled in music classes on a high school (including home school), technical college, junior college, or university level, such as:

  • Music composition
  • Music education
  • Music/sound engineering
  • Music journalism
  • Music management
  • Music performance (vocal or instrumental)
  • Music production
  • Music theory
  • Music therapy
  • Entertainment law
This year, the scholarship will give the winning student a Grand Prize of $500 to further their studies; the second-place student will receive $250 toward their studies. Both students, and one or more runners-up, will also receive a complimentary one-year membership in TMC.
