Friends of the Family Justice Center Announces Donation for the Peace, Love and Happiness Forensic Exam Room in the Village Main Building

The Friends of the Family Justice Center serving San Marcos & Hays County is pleased to announce the receipt of a donation from JP’s Peace, Love & Happiness Foundation. The contribution is part of the Village Main Capital Campaign and now the Forensic Exam Room in the future Family Justice Center will be named after JP’s Peace, Love & Happiness Foundation. This project will construct the shovel-ready Village Main Building to house four major social service agencies in San Marcos.

Village Main Building is part of the Village Campus located on 29 acres at 215 Reimers Avenue in San Marcos, the project will provide a centralized home for Community Action, Inc. of Central Texas, Early Childhood Intervention-Homespun of Hays County, the San Marcos-Hays County Family Justice Center and the Women, Infants and Children Program.

“The PL&H foundation's support of our efforts to co-locate on the Village Campus multiple services for victims of violent crime in Hays County is much appreciated.  The DeJoria Family's generosity is a great start to further our vision of opening a family justice center in Hays County a reality.",” said San Marcos Assistant Police Chief Penny Dunn. “We are deeply grateful for the donation made by JP’s Peace, Love & Happiness Foundation.  Support such as this reflects the commitment that our community has in helping victims and their families recover from the trauma caused by crime and to begin the journey toward healing.” said Victim Services Coordinator, Roya Williamson. Dunn and Williamson serve on the Board of Directors for the Friends of the Family Justice Center, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

The Village Campus seeks to raise the remaining contributions of the $3.7 million in Phase II to build the 22,000 square foot Village Main Building on property acquired previously raised in Phase I from the City of San Marcos, Hays County and private contributors.
