The Boys & Girls Clubs of Weber-Davis is comprised of nine club sites located in the Weber and Davis County areas. As chartered sites through the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, our mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. This mission statement ensures that we are providing positive places for youth that are safe, supervised, and fun.
Over the past 100 years, The Boys & Girls Club of America has developed effective after-school and summer programs for youth between the ages of 6 and 18. Boys & Girls Clubs endorse five core program areas to support healthy development in youth: Character/Leadership Development, Education/Career Development, Health/Life Skills, Sports/Fitness/ Recreation, and The Arts. Our national organization provides the oversight, curriculum, programming, and commitment to quality to ensure that all youth are provided the tools necessary to make the right choices and overcome the pressures in their lives to choose gangs and criminal or antisocial behavior.
In November, 2000, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Weber-Davis opened the doors of our first site in Roy, Utah. Since that time, sites have opened at Central Middle School in Ogden (2002), Marshall White Center in Ogden (2003), Syracuse Elementary in Syracuse (2004), Mound Fort Middle School in Ogden (2005), Mount Ogden Middle School in Ogden (2005), Highland Middle School in Ogden (2005), and Teen Keystone Clubs at the Marshall White Center and Weber State University Upward Bound (2006).
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Weber-Davis depends heavily on the involvement of the community through donations, volunteers, and advisory panels. Our Volunteer Director reports the numbers and equivalent value of service monthly to ensure an ongoing process for community inclusion. During 2006, more than 600 volunteers provided assistance in our Clubs.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Weber-Davis is a member of the Marshall White Community Center Advisory Committee, Ogden Area Youth Alliance, Ogden-Weber Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Davis County, United Way of Northern Utah, Utah Non-Profit Association, Utah Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs, and Weber State University Community Advisory Committee.
