About Us :
Salem Baptist Church is a body of believers who have been called together to do God's work in God's way. Our heart is to make and grow disciples of Christ so that we may be used by God to impact one of the fastest growing areas in the Richmond area-- Goochland County.
God has called Salem to be Christ-centered in worship, Bible-based in teaching, and mission-minded in ministry. We are committed to helping you discover the real meaning and purpose for your life. We exist to lead people into a relationship with Jesus Christ, and to equip them to serve Him and make Him known.
If you are looking for a place to serve the Lord Jesus Christ, we invite you to come. If you need to see the love of Christ, we ask you to come and experience God with us. If you need friends, we invite you to join us. Whatever your need might be, we want you to know that God cares and so do we.
Salem has a place for adults of all ages. We provide opportunities for building relationships and friendships which go beyond Sunday. Through Bible studies, accountability groups, Master's Men and Sweet Mondays for ladies, you are given spiritual support and encouragement to face the challenge of living in the 21st century.
Salem's worship services are informal and relaxed. Whether it be formal or casual, we want you to dress for church as you desire. Our services mix contemporary and traditional styles of music with Bible-based preaching, prayer and giving. Our goal as a congregation is to worship Jesus Christ and become obedient to the Word of God.
We love children and show it by providing child care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Our loving, caring staff have a ministry designed to help meet the spiritual and physical needs of children. Our goal is to build into their hearts the Word of God and a desire to live for Jesus.
We started AWANA Clubs for children ages 3-12 because we care about spiritual growth. AWANA is an acrostic taken from 2 Timothy 2:15 which says, "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed." Clubbers meet on Wednesday evenings for fun filled games, Bible study, and Scripture memorization. Your children will love AWANA.
Salem has placed great importance on our youth knowing Jesus, living like Jesus, and sharing Jesus with others. They are the next generation of believers. Through weekly ministry opportunities, mission trips, and Bible studies our youth are taught and inspired to apply Christian principles to their everyday lives.
Come and experience God with us at Salem. If you are looking for a church home, we hope you will consider becoming a part of our family.
