Liberty University Craft Fair doubles donations to Lynchburg Daily Bread

Liberty University’s dining provider, Sodexo, again hosted the Liberty Craft Fair in the LaHaye Multipurpose Center on Liberty University’s campus. Donations this year totaled $4,700 which nearly doubled the 2015 event.

“We are so thankful for all those who came out for this event,” said Unit Marketing Specialist Ryan Wheeler. “It’s just great to see people come together to support and strengthen our community. These guests didn’t have to come out on this freezing day, but they did, with donations and food perishables in hand, ready to serve their fellow neighbor. Really brings a smile to your face.”

The annual event features more than 100 local vendors selling crafts, art, handmade wares, stationery, candles, scarves, jewelry, clothing, Christmas gifts, holiday treats, and local food trucks.

In order to attend the fair, guests are asked to bring a non-perishable food item or monetary donation for Lynchburg Daily Bread.

For thirty-four years, Lynchburg Daily Bread has provided a hot meal in a Christian environment to the needy of the Lynchburg area.

“The Liberty Craft Fair by Sodexo is just another way we celebrate the connection between Liberty University and the surrounding community,” said Sodexo General Manager Anthony Delligatti. “It is also an important opportunity to support local business in Central Virginia.”
