Mission:
The mission of Isle of Wight County Public Schools is to provide rigorous, academic programs in a safe school environment that foster high levels of student achievement. The division is committed to offering educational program characterized by high academic standards that prepare students to exceed state and national accreditation standards. The curriculum will prepare students to be lifelong learners for the ever-changing global community.

Goals:

- Students will be able to demonstrate competence in a common core of knowledge and skills because the division is committed to:
- maintaining full accreditation and scoring in the top 20% of Virginia schools;
- striving for 90% of students to be reading on grade level by the end of 3rd grade; and
- exceeding federal and state requirements.
- Students will be prepared to enter and successfully continue in the skilled work force and/or to pursue further academic and technical education because the division is committed to:
- increasing regional opportunities for students to pursue training in their areas of interest and to earn employment certifications; and
- keeping abreast of trends at the national and state levels and with surrounding school divisions to ensure that our students are able to experience the same levels of success and to remain competitive for awards, scholarships, and entry into colleges and universities or technical programs of their choice.
- Students will develop a sense of ethics and values reflecting individual and shared responsibilities for themselves and the community by:
- being provided opportunities to learn about individual student differences through inclusive educational experiences; and
- being provided mentoring and service opportunities in their community.
