Help fight hunger by volunteering for the Yoke’s What’s for Lunch? Food Drive, on Friday, July 10.

The drive is focused on collecting child-friendly food to stock the shelves of the 20 neighborhood food banks serving Spokane County.

Volunteers are needed to staff six different Yoke’s store locations including Airway Heights, North Market Street in Mead, North Foothills Drive, Indian Trail Road, East Sprague in Veradale and the store located at Argonne Road and Montgomery Avenue.

Four volunteers are needed per two-hour shift. Shifts run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Tasks include handing out fliers, accepting donated bags of groceries and loading them into trucks.  A Second Harvest site supervisor will be available at each Yoke’s location and volunteers must be age 18 and older.

To volunteer, please visit the Second Harvest Web site at 2-harvest.org and click on the Volunteer Your Time icon.  For additional information, please contact Julie Nesbitt, Manager of Volunteer Resources at (509) 252-6242 or email jnesbitt@2-harvest.org

With your volunteer support, we can provide food to thousands of children, families and seniors who face hunger in their daily lives.
