Who We Are:
The Wheat Land Communities’ Fair gets its name not only from the majestic golden grain of the area, but also from the surrounding communities! The towns of Lind, Washtucna and Benge, while only a mere shadow of the cities once known as the world’s most important grain exporter are still abundantly wealthy in history, friendliness and natural beauty.
From it’s inception in 1981, Wheat Land Communities’ Fair has experienced steady growth. From one building in 1981 to 13 permanent buildings and an amphitheater that are used year round, members of the communities have shown their pride in the fair that is exhibited by hours of work by dedicated volunteers.
The members of the Wheat Land Communities’ Fair board are serving without any compensation, other than the pleasure of promoting a worthwhile community enterprise.
