Five photographers displaying five images each. Derek Ferrington, Thomas Krueger, Claire Putney, Gay Waldman and John Wilmot bring refreshing diversity and unique expression to the camera’s mimicry of everyday life.
Ferrington works in black & white to capture a microcosm of details both seen and imagined to portray the rhythm and energy inherent in all things. Krueger embraces traditional darkroom techniques in his juxtaposition of beauty and despair. Putney’s curious placement of hair received from a friend is the beautiful basis of five quirky color photographs in her explorations of that which is unfamiliar. Waldman’s bold color photographs of organic flowing lines and shapes found in nature spring forth from digitally manipulated images enhanced with pencil and paint on fine art paper. Wilmot transforms the fantasy of male and female in his irrational instances of imagination.
