12th Annual Science Fiction + Fantasy Short Film Festival 2017

From: Science Fiction Plus Fantasy Short Film Festival

A not-to-be missed annual juried festival showcasing animated and live-action science fiction, fantasy, and horror-tinged short films from around the globe.

The festival brings together industry professionals in filmmaking and the genres of science fiction and fantasy to encourage and support new, creative additions to science fiction and fantasy cinema arts. The festival will showcase animated and live-action science fiction and fantasy films.

Filmmakers from around the world are encouraged to submit to this acclaimed festival. Admitted films are judged by a nationally recognized jury comprised of luminaries in the fields of science fiction and fantasy.

Session 1

Seahawks vs. Monsters
Dir. Zeek Earl & Chris Caldwell (2015, USA, 4 min.)
Inspired by the epic play and big personalities of the Seattle Seahawks, Seahawks vs. Monsters channels vintage Japanese Kaiju films but with a PNW lean. When the city of Seattle falls under attack by giant mutated beasts, who better to save the day than the Hawks?

Getting Fat In A Healthy Way

In a world where gravity is weak and skinny people fly into the sky, Constantine has never left the apartment he shares with his father, Atanas. But one day the beautiful stewardess who has moved into the building will change Constantine's life forever.

Mill At Calder's End

In the remote village of Calder's End stands an old windmill, a repository of dark secrets. Nicholas Grimshaw has returned to this haunted place, his childhood home, intent on breaking a generations old family curse. On their final trial as village lookouts, a troop of young scouts are ambushed by the very creature they were hunting. After a violent battle, the lone survivor, Pehn, escapes into the shadows of the Eyrewood, a mysterious and deadly forest that is home to all manner of wild creatures. The most horrifying of all is the Basilisk, a winged titan with the power to turn its prey into stone. This is the beast the troop of lookouts had been seeking, and now it hunts for Pehn.
