category:Arts and Entertainment posted:September 4th, 2008Seattle, WA - Seattle Theatre Group (STG) presents Brian Posehn and Judah Friedlander.
Comedian, actor and writer Brian Posehn was most recently seen on Comedy Central's popular show, "The Sarah Silverman Program" and on tour as part of the Comedians of Comedy, of which he is one of the original members. Besides writing and performing on HBO's acclaimed "Mr. Show," he has acted on sitcoms such as "Just Shoot Me," "Seinfeld," "NewsRadio," "Everybody Loves Raymond," and "Friends." Posehn has also appeared in several movies, including "Rob Zombie's The Devil's Rejects" and "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer." He released his first graphic novel, "The Last Christmas" (2006), and a comedy album, "Live in Nerd Rage" (2006).
Judah Friedlander plays the crass and wisecracking writer Frank on NBC's Emmy Award-winning "30 Rock," a workplace comedy where the workplace exists behind-the-scenes of a live variety show. He has been doing stand-up comedy since 1989. He's a comic's comic and a crowd-pleaser. On stage, he is "The World Champion." He is a great athlete and master of the martial arts; he gets tons of chicks, and is a role model to children.
He has starred in over 25 feature films. In 2004, Friedlander was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as the genuine nerd "Toby Radloff" in "American Splendor." He won Best Supporting Actor at the 2005 Bend Film Festival for his role as Anthony Roskowski in "Duane Hopwood." Movie audiences first got to know him as the "Pharmacy Clerk" who tries to sell Ben Stiller "a whole bunch of Mumm's" (a line he ad-libbed) in "Meet the Parents." In February 2008, he finished filming a supporting role in Darren Aronofsky's "The Wrestler," which debuts in 2009. Friedlander has several films opening in 2008, including a lead role in "Full Grown Men"; supporting roles in "Chapter 27" with Jared Leto and "Meet Dave" with Eddie Murphy; as well as cameos in "Feast 2" & "Cabin Fever 2."
In addition to his stand-up comedy television appearances, Friedlander has appeared in many television shows, including "Curb Your Enthusiasm," and is regularly featured on VH1's "Best Week Ever." He also starred as the "Hug Guy" in the classic Dave Matthews Band music video "Everyday." He, along with the "30 Rock" cast, was nominated for a 2008 Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
Friedlander is working on a stand-up comedy album, a concert movie and his own film project, tentatively titled "World Champion." Despite his busy "30 Rock" production schedule, he continues to tour the country with his stand-up comedy act.
