Author Richard Farr Reads Emperors of the Ice

The program is free and open to the public. No registration is required. Free street parking is available.
“Emperors of the Ice” is the true story of three adventurous men who took a side trip while waiting to assist Robert Falcon Scott in his exploration of the South Pole. Bill Wilson, Scott’s chief of scientific staff, believed he could use emperor penguin embryos to prove that the birds evolved from dinosaurs. Wilson and his two travel partners set off to collect and study incubating eggs and encountered many life-threatening perils.
This is Farr’s first book. He has also worked as a journalist and has had work published in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the Seattle Times, Toronto Globe and Mail, The Times, and The Guardian. He lives in Capitol Hill.
