Immigrants Can Learn About Health Insurance And Their Options At The Seattle Public Library
from:Seattle Public Library category:Schools and Libraries posted:October 9th, 2008The Seattle Public Library will be offering informational sessions from noon to 1:30 p.m. in Mandarin, Cantonese and English with a State Health Insurance and Benefits Advisors (SHIBA) counselor at the Beacon Hill Branch, 2821 Beacon Ave. S.
The sessions are free and open to the public. No registration is required. Free parking is available at the branch parking lot.
SHIBA provides all Washington state residents with free health insurance education, assistance and advocacy. The counselor will be able to assist patrons with choices and problems concerning Medicare, Medicaid, Basic Health, the Children’s Health Insurance Program, the Washington State Health Insurance Pool and private insurance. Visitors will be able to compare insurance policies, find a prescription drug plan and learn about their rights and options.
