Author Javier Amaya will read from his book, “Tales of Love and Distance” from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at The Seattle Public Library, Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Microsoft Auditorium, Level 1.
The program is free and open to the public. No registration is required. Parking will be available in the Central Library garage for a $5 special event rate.
“Tales of Love and Distance” is a book of short stories about Latin Americans in other parts of the world and missing their homelands. As they struggle to adapt to their new environments, they look for romance and love. Originally published in Spanish, the collection was selected for translation into English by the arts organization 4Culture in the 2008 Individual Projects competition.
Amaya previously wrote the books, “Chronicles from Seattle” and “A Machine Gun What For.” His editorials have been published in several magazines and newspapers in Colombia, England and the United States. He lives in West Seattle.
