It allows visitors to explore EMP/SFM’s collection of more than 450 videotaped oral history interviews in a comfortable, club-like setting. The first exhibition to integrate both EMP and SFM, Sound and Vision: Artists Tell Their Stories is designed to provide access to our oral history program and raise public awareness about this remarkable collection of interviews, which we believe will become one of our institution’s greatest legacies.

See and hear from artists in all genres from the EMP|SFM oral history vault. The exhibition that opened Feb. 28 delivers more than 100 audio and video recordings. Pull up a café chair and plug in to hear from former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic, country musician Marty Stuart, filmmaker George Lucas and many more. Then step into a booth and record your own oral history.

Location : Experience Music Project Museum.

Please note: Admission prices have changed, summer hours are in effect through Labor Day and two exhibitions are closing in Sept. Please adjust your calendar/museum listings to reflect the new price structure, current operating hours and exhibition changes:

General adult admission to both Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame (EMP|SFM) is $15. Admission for seniors, youth and students (w/ID) is $12, and admission for children under 5 is free. One ticket gives access to both museums.

EMP|SFM is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Labor Day. After Labor Day, EMP|SFM will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
