Pike Place Market Street Festival
from:Pike Place Market Street Festival category:Arts and Entertainment posted:May 28th, 2008The Pike Place Market Street Festival was started in 1971 as a way of saying “thanks” to the citizens of Seattle for their vote to save the Market. The 2008 Festival will be the fourth produced by the Pike Place Market Foundation.
Since 1982 the Market Foundation has worked to preserve the Pike Place Market’s vitality, diversity, and role as a treasured icon of the City of Seattle. We raise funds for the Pike Market Medical Clinic, Child Care & Preschool, Senior Center and Downtown Food Bank as well as special heritage and community projects within the Market.
