Senior Matinee of The Christmas Foundling
from:Taproot Theatre category:Arts and Entertainment posted:September 6th, 2008SEATTLE,WA---This holiday season Taproot Theatre gives seniors an opportunity to enjoy the heartwarming play The Christmas Foundling in a convenient daytime performance. Written by Norman Allen and inspired by the stories of Bret Harte, The Christmas Foundling features Northwest Backroads’ personality Grant Goodeve as Jake, a miner during the California gold rush. He’s part of a tight-knit group of rough-and-tumble miners who fill their days chasing fortunes and their nights with story and song. When an orphaned infant is thrust into their lives on Christmas Eve, their carefree existence is turned topsy-turvy and they discover that the greatest wealth sometimes comes in surprising packages.
Tickets are also still available for the senior matinee performance of Susan and God, Rachel Crothers’ witty 1930s satirical comedy, on October 1 at 2:00 p.m. The New York Times called Susan and God “a rare gem” during the play’s off-Broadway revival in 2006.
