The Seattle Public Library Offers Writing Workshopsfor Teens This Fall

The workshops are free and open to the public. Free parking is available in the branch parking lots. Registration is required. Call the branch at 206-684-4063 to register.
Poetry Writing - 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, October 7
Explore poetry writing in a comfortable setting. Participants will discuss different types of poetry, participate in writing exercises and share their work. Participants are encouraged to bring poetry they have already written to share with the group.
Journaling, Blogging or Zinery? - 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, October 21
Learn about and discuss narrative nonfiction, journals, memoirs, zines, collages and more. Participants will do some exercises and share their work. Magazines and art supplies will be provided, as well as examples.
Comic Writing with Brandon Jerwa - 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Friday, November 7
Learn all about the comic industry and the production of comics. Jerwa will discuss the creative process, dealing with licensed properties, the growing role of comics as accepted literature and sources of inspiration for movies and video games, and the changes in media in the 21st century.
