Irreplaceable: Wildlife in a Warming World.
Seattle,WA---A nationally touring exhibit featuring the wildlife photography of some of the world’s top photographers will be in Seattle for one month this summer. Irreplaceable: Wildlife in a Warming World opens at the Burke Museum on July 11 and closes August 10, 2008.
Organized by Earthjustice, the International League of Conservation Photographers, the Noah Alliance, and Conservation International’s Center for Applied Biodiversity Science, Irreplaceable brings together a collection of compelling images to tell the story of how plants and animals around the world are struggling to adapt to a rapidly warming planet. The exhibit features life at all points of the food chain—from Antarctic krill to the Florida panther.
Irreplaceable complements The Last Polar Bear: Facing the Truth of a Warming World, an environmental photography exhibit currently on view at the Burke Museum. The Last Polar Bear will remain at the Burke until December 31, 2008.
The Burke Museum is a proud partner of the City of Seattle’s Climate Action Now campaign and is committed to engaging the public in conversations about the environment, both regionally and globally, through nature photography exhibits that visually reflect the urgent, changing realities of our natural world.
