About Us
Gallery is Located in the artistic community of Fremont in North Seattle, the newly remodeled and expanded, Edge of Glass Gallery has been an active studio in the ever-changing field of blown art glass since 1993. All of the artists shown at the Edge of Glass Gallery are local Pacific Northwest artists established in their fields of glass. Many of the artists create their works in our studio where the public is invited to watch as 'objects d'art' are created before them. Onlookers are free to converse with the artist and ask questions while learning about glass as they watch.
The gallery features many different styles of glasswork, including blown glass, slumped glass, sand blast etched glass and glass jewelry. Custom orders can also be taken for many of the items we carry if the color or size is not to your desire.
Your purchases can be packaged for shipping to anywhere to insure your new piece of artwork arrives home safely.
Group demonstrations are available with advance notice and with artist approval. Call the Gallery to arrange a demonstration.
The Gallery Shows change on a regular basis and frequently showcase rising star artists in the field of glass. There is always something interesting and new to see at The Edge of Glass.
For those of you who feel the urge to handle liquid glass at 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, evening and weekend glass blowing classes are available for the novice and the advanced glass blower. We offer only experienced professional teachers. Classes are small, no more than four students per session. The session lasts six weeks. The teacher to student ratio is 1:2, which allows maximum guidance during the hands-on four-hour class period. Each student has ample opportunity to work with the glass for two hours during each class.
After a student has completed at least two class sessions or can demonstrate proficiency he/she is able to rent studio time at the Edge of Glass. Ask us for a current schedule of fees if you are interested in rental time. The Edge of Glass studio is in high demand and rental space is limited. Advance scheduling is required.
