Fool Proof Performing Center

History:

Foolproof is a non profit organization serving the Greater Puget Sound region and beyond by working to articulate and energize progressive thought in America. We began in 1997 with a focus on humor, believing that laughter is not only one of the most positive experiences people can share but also provides a direct line to the truth. After two years of operation as a one-week comedy festival, the organization expanded to an eight month performing arts series presenting comedy, literary arts, political satire, theater, music and dance.

In just four years, we have presented more than 75 voices of reason to the people of the Pacific Northwest, attracting eighty three thousand people to the events themselves and reaching hundreds of thousands more through radio and TV. Throughout, we featured the voices of public figures, opinion leaders and people of action for the common sense and the common good of all Americans

Foolproof seeks no less than to invigorate the American democracy to articulate and amplify the American ideals of individual liberty, equality, justice, freedom, community, accountability and opportunity. To provide the ideas, information and viewpoints that “We the people” need to hear if we are to exercise our essential role of governance. Above all to take part in the dynamic evolution of the great and glorious American experiment government of the people, by the people and for the people.
