Brick And Mortar Gallery
About Us:
Brick and Mortar's philosophy is that the American public should support its artists financially. There aren't enough Guggenheims or Gettys to launch individual art careers. People fail to understand that while projecting the starving artist persona on a painter may be a romantic notion, in reality it insults a working artist to have their profession relegated to unrealistic extremes such as gallery mega star or hobbyist status. It is a myth that good artwork is not affordable; fine artists can make a decent living if the public actively supports them by purchasing their work. If you love that piece of art, buy it!
Brick and Mortar Gallery is a golden thread in the rich tapestry comprising Tacoma's new downtown cultural scene. Nearly five years old, the gallery was born and raised in the funky and industrial atmosphere of a 100-year-old brick building with 12-foot-high-ceilings.
