March of Dimes in honor of Jacob Abernathy

Last week I lost my baby Jacob.  In honor of him I am trying to organize a team to walk in the March of Dimes this Saturday.  Please help our team by signing up to walk or donating.  Our team website is below in the email that I have been sending to friends and family that explains the situation.  Thank you

        As you may already know, we lost our baby last week.  I was seventeen weeks along in my pregnancy.  Wes and I named our son Jacob Edward Abernathy.  He was delivered at SouthwestWashingtonMedicalCenter April 19^th 2008.  He weighed only 1 .3 oz. and was 4.5 in. long.  At this point the doctors are not sure why this happened, but the main thought is that Jacob may have had a chromosomal abnormality.  We have chosen to have tests done and will know more in the coming weeks.  In honor of our little angel we are walking in a March of Dimes walk-a-thon.  Our team name is Jacob Edward Abernathy, and our team website is www.marchforbabies.org/525453 if you are unable to walk with us but still want to be a part of our cause, you can sponsor our team.  Any donation would help out.  And of course, you can do both!  The walk-a-thon is this coming Saturday, April, 29^th.  It starts at the PearsonAirMuseum in Vancouver.  We take off at 9:00am.  There is a 10k option and a 3k.  The girls and I will be walking the 3k.  Please take a minute to visit our website, you can register to walk or donate this way.  This has been a very hard, sad experience. Besides honoring our baby, this walk is our chance to do something to help other families and possibly keep them from having to go through what we are going through.  The March Of Dimes has saved millions of babies from death or disability in the past seven decades.  In Oregon and Southwest Washington, one in ten babies are born too soon or with a birth defect.  Losing Jacob has reminded us how incredibly lucky we are to have Emma and Reaghan, two very happy, healthy, beautiful little girls.  Please pass this along to all your friends and family!  It is our goal to raise $250.00, and have a huge group walking!  If you need any more info email or call me.  Thank you for the support and prayers that have been sent our way during this time.  We hope to see everyone there!
