AFTER YEARS OF HARD WORK AND DEDICATION by countless caring people throughout the state, and the support of our Wisconsin Legislature (www.legis.state.wi.us) the Commercial Dog Breeders Licensure Bill (AB250/SB208) has been unanimously passed!!! Governor Doyle (www.wisgov.state.wi.us) is fully expected to sign this groundbreaking bill, date to be determined (check www.nowisconsinpuppymills.com for updates).

BUT BEAR WITH US, PLEASE...the real fight has just begun. Puppy mills won't simply disappear overnight. TOUGH ENFORCEMENT of the new law, as well as PUBLIC AWARENESS will be key to eradicating this evil. As many of these unsavory enterprises begin to close down, there will be a glut of sickly dogs needing shelter, veterinary attention, foster care, rehabilitation, and adoption, all of which will put a real strain on local animal shelters and humane organizations which are already affected by the shaky economy! They will need your help and support now more than ever, people - GIVE THEM A CALL AND VOLUNTEER!
