About Us :

Holy Family Church is located on highway 89 about 2 miles north of downtown Afton on the Western border of Wyoming. Afton is located in beautiful Star Valley, about 70 miles Southwest of Jackson Hole . The parish is quickly outgrowing its current facility and is in the process of completing plans to construct a new, larger, church in the town of Thayne, about 15 miles to the North of its present site. This will place the new church in the middle of Star Valley making it more convenient for a greater number of its parishioners.

The parishioners of this 'small town' Church are widely varied in their backgrounds and means. A priest comes from Jackson every week to say the only Mass. Some parishioners drive over 30 miles one way to attend mass. The single mass results in everyone being together at the same time every week, lending to the closeness that is present among its members. About half of the parishioners are seasonal, leaving the Church 'spacious' in the Winter and crowded all Summer.
