June 26 - EWC Pre-registration Fall Semester, 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m., EWC Campus, 3200 West C St., Torrington. Students will have the opportunity to take the COMPASS placement exam to ensure placement into appropriate English, reading, and math courses. Test costs $15 and students should take a calculator. Parents are invited to attend the program “You and Your Student” while students are testing. Advisors will be available to assist students with class registration. Lunch provided for students and their families 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Financial aid staff will be available to assist with the financial aid process. Register early for the pre-registration sessions. The State invites all citizens, public agencies and other interested parties to review housing, economic development, community development and homeless needs; review the proposed use of funds, review past program performance and the Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice and provide comments. June 27 - Wyoming Department of Corrections Golf Tournament, Torrington Municipal Golf Course. Social and Dinner to be held June 26, 6 p.m., Cottonwood Country Club, with karaoke and a DJ to follow at the Days Inn. June 27, 8 a.m., shotgun start. The tournament is intended to boost morale, increase wellness and encourage camaraderie within the Department of Corrections and the community.

July 2 - Athletic Acceleration Program, North Platte Physical Therapy, Torrington. Program is offered to area middle school and high school athletes to help enhance sports performance. July 4 - Annual Frontier Fourth of July Celebration, 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Fort Laramie National Historic Site. The day will be packed with events and will offer something for everyone. Events include: Military flag raising ceremony and cannon firing (9:30 a.m.); Old-time childrens games (10 a.m.); 38 gun salute (noon); Living history presentation about culture and warrior traditions of Northern Plains Tribes (12:45); Trotter equestrian drill team (2 p.m.); Historic weapons demonstration (3:30); Junior Soldier Drill for kids aged 7-12 (4:30 p.m.); Retreat parade, cannon firing, lowering of the flag (5:15 p.m.). Throughout the day visitors can see a variety of living history stations and craft demonstrations and taste free samples of army bread. The Goshen County Chapter of Relay for Life will be selling hamburgers, chips, and drinks. Rootbeer and sarsaparilla will also be available in the 1883 Soldiers Bar. Contact Ft.
