Dr. Stevens is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology at Columbia University Medical Center. He majored in Neuroscience at Bowdoin College before attending Dartmouth College School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital where he served as Chief Resident during his senior year. He then completed his nephrology fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center where he was also Chief Fellow during his senior year. His clinical and research interests include critical care nephrology and improving the care provided to patients with acute kidney injury and he is the Medical Director of Acute Care Nephrology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. In addition to his interests in kidney disease, he is also a member of the Columbia Doctors Hypertension Center, a multi-disciplinary center of excellence that provides high-quality care and state-of–the-art diagnostic testing for patients with hypertension Dr. Stevens is also a dedicated medical educator and was recognized with an Internal Medicine Senior Resident Teaching Award at Massachusetts General Hospital in 2016, the Columbia University Kimberg Memorial Faculty Teaching Award in 2020, and as a Columbia University Ewig Clinical Scholar in 2021.  He serves as the Associate Course Director for the Renal Physiology & Pathophysiology Course at the Columbia Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and as the Associate Program Director for the Columbia University Internal Medicine Residency Program.
