Beacon Health System currently has visitor restrictions in place for our hospitals and outpatient centers to help minimize the risk of COVID-19 (coronavirus) to our patients. Get the most up-to-date restrictions on our website.St Joseph County WIC (Women, Infants & Children) is sponsored by Memorial Hospital of South Bend’s Beacon Community Impact division. WIC benefits and other funding are provided by the Indiana WIC Program supervised by the Indiana State Department of Health. WIC provides nutrition food benefits to supplement diets, education and referrals to additional community services for eligible individuals (pregnant women, breastfeeding moms up to one year after delivery, non-breastfeeding moms up to six months after delivery, infants and children up to age 5). The St Joseph County WIC team consists of Registered Dietitians, Nutritionists and Registered Nurses. Additionally, the WIC breastfeeding support team consists of IBCLC’s and Lactation Specialists to support you in reaching your breastfeeding goals. WIC helps families by providing supplemental healthy food benefits and education. These benefits can be used at participating stores via the WIC EBT card they receive from WIC to purchase their foods. The goal of this page is to help provide additional information and education to our WIC participant community in addition to what is received in the clinic. Followers can expect to see breastfeeding support information, helpful tips, important information regarding benefits, event announcements and more. If you are in need of immediate assistance, please contact either of the St Joseph County WIC offices at: 574-647-2100 (South Bend) and 574-647-2175 (Mishawaka).
